The Li'lbravehearts'
The Li’lbravehearts’ new normal in extending to the needs of children with down syndrome are both responsive and responsible given the health situations of and associated congenital diseases of DS.
Pre-Covid and before lockdowns, we have fundraising activities and social gatherings that promote the needs of a child with DS. Foremost is to work in finding partnerships with private sectors and corporate sponsors for the surgical management of under privileged children with Congenital Heart Diseases, Leukemia, Hirschsprung Disease, ENT associated conditions and Access to Therapies and other developmental needs of children born with down syndrome.
We continue to find sponsors of nutritional support for sick children as well as vitamin supplementation for these growing kids.
The entire pandemic and up until today, our work is to bridge the gap of the unmet needs of our children as well as make sure that they will not be left behind.
At the start of ECQ, more than 1000 families received care packs during the lockdown:
We also distributed educational materials to augment the lack of therapies and absence of formal schooling for these children.
We also distributed Emergency Home Kits as access to hospital care are extremely challenging.
These consist of nebulizers, pulse oximeters, oxygen tanks, basic medicines and vitamins, colostomy bags, wheelchair, etc.

We conducted soup kitchens for families in Montalban, Marikina, Isabela greatly affected by the typhoon and flooding last November.
Christmas will always be the season to look forward to for the li’lbravehearts.
It will always bring smiles as we bring bags and bags of goodies for the families.
And now in 2021, we have a joint mission with Heart Warriors of the Philippines, Inc to access free heart surgeries at the Philippine Heart Center.
We already sponsored more than six children to complex open heart surgeries and are still counting.
This we hope to get more sponsorships to help augment the expenses that entail in order to prepare a child for the operation. These include nutritional support, transportation allowances, check ups and other needs.
We are truly thankful to everyone that came forward and sponsored a child with Down Syndrome.
With Pandemic that is still present, unemployment surge affects the families. It extremely doubles the risk and put our children to disadvantage given their vulnerabilities to sickness and malnutrition.
They have special needs and require additional attention so we forge ahead and find ways to help the families ensure that people with down syndrome will always have access to nutrition, healthcare, and education.
We choose to care.
